Gannawarra Shire Council will introduce a new electoral structure in the upcoming elections.

In previous years, Gannawarra had a multi-member structure with seven councillors across four wards.

Moving forward, Gannawarra will now adopt a unsubdivided structure, meaning seven councillors will represent Gannawarra as a whole rather than by ward.

There are currently 11 councillors in the running to fill the seven vacancies, including:

LINK, Keith Harold

FARRANT, Lisa

BOLITHO, Daniel

STANTON, Ross

JARMAN, Robert

TONY, Anthony L.

SMITH, Garner J.

QUINN, Pat

COLLINS, Noel

GILLINGHAM, Charles

COLLIER, Travis

Five of the 11 nominees — Keith Harold Link, Ross Stanton, Garner J. Smith, Charles Gillingham and Travis Collier — are current council members who are hoping to be re-elected.

Ballot packs are currently being distributed across Gannawarra.

Ballots must be returned by post or to the VEC Electoral Office, located at 36 Victoria St, Kerang, by 6pm Friday, October 25.
