Gannawarra Shire Council will host two special community events in November, focusing on green spaces and adapting to changing weather conditions.

The ABC’s Millie Ross, host of Gardening Australia, will be the main presenter of a free lunch at Grow Collective in Kerang.

The lunch will teach residents about developing positive green spaces and celebrate local initiatives on Wednesday, November 13 from 12:30pm.

Agriculture Victoria’s Dale Grey, a seasonal risk agronomist, will be a guest speaker at the Living With Water community dinner, taking place at the Big Cohuna Stockyard.

The dinner will provide information on wet and dry weather management and adjusting to changing weather conditions on Wednesday, November 20 from 6pm.

The events are part of council’s Let’s Talk About the Weather program, which has engaged with residents over the past two months on extreme weather events in conjunction with Make a Change and local organisations.

Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson thanked those who had participated in the program so far and said community feedback had been excellent.

“We look forward to seeing what discussions occur during these two special community events,” he said.
