Members of Coleambally Garden Club had their August meeting on Saturday with a lovely outing to Hulong House at Whitton.
They enjoyed browsing all the wonderful treasures on offer and had a delicious morning tea.
The next meeting will be the AGM on Saturday, September 7, in Coleambally.
Members would love to welcome some new members to the group.
Meanwhile, the club is looking forward to its ‘Friendship Luncheon’ this Saturday at the Coleambally Community Hall.
The guest speaker will be Mr Roy Duffell.

The Anglican Op Shop, Darlington Point has reopened and is available for drop-offs and purchases.
It is located in the town hall and open each Saturday from 9am.
As always, the group is looking for volunteers to help out.

Warm up with the Coleambally branch of the Red Cross each Friday from 1.30pm at the Coleambally Community Club for a game of 500.
They welcome all ages and genders to learn and play.
Stay on longer to have a chance to win the club’s amazing Friday night raffles.

The Country Education Foundation of Coleambally-Darlington Point’s trivia night on July 26 provided an evening of good fun and brain exercise for all teams.
As a break from answering questions, one of the games involved constructing a contraption using everything provided in one brown paper bag - string, balloons, plastic cups and plates, straws.
To win, the contraption had to stand by itself for 30 seconds and be the tallest.
The teams were very creative on this project, with the winner being the CICL team.
The CICL team ‘Don’t peak too soon’ won the night overall with a score of 68 points, only one point ahead of team Rex.
Team Qantas took out the lollipop award.
Six $50 Chamber of Commerce vouchers sponsored by CICL were provided as prizes in the continuous raffle draw.
The lucky door prize sponsored by Tim’s Meats was won by Alison Hayes.
The Country Education Foundation of Coleambally-Darlington Point greatly appreciates the support of sponsors and team players.

All funds raised go towards education grants for our young people.

Former Coleambally resident Norm Harrison has been getting in the Olympics spirit this week.
A former Olympian himself, he’s sharing the love of the games with his new community at Narrandera.
Last week, he drove the Narrandera High School bus number two in his uniform from the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
Norm represented Australia in pistol shooting.
Looking good, Norm - you’ll always be a champion.
