After two years on hold, this year’s Art Beyond the Divide exhibition will be bigger and better than ever.

Held from Friday, October 14 to Sunday, October 16 at Wine X Sam in Seymour, the event coincides with Tastes of the Goulburn.

Art Beyond the Divide will be adjudicated by a panel of three well-respected arts practitioners, who have a wealth of knowledge, expertise and a passion for supporting regional arts. There is over $5000 in prize money up for grabs.

This year's judging panel consists of expert photographer Raymond Fagg, pastel artist with expertise in oils and watercolour Caroline Lewallen and fine artist with expertise in a variety of media in painting and drawing Darren Crothers.

The Art Society has also significantly invested in upgrades to the Art Beyond the Divide show, with artworks to be displayed on its new bespoke art stands.

Seymour and District Art Society president Terri MacDonald said the funds generated from the show would go directly towards supporting and promoting regional arts.

"Art Beyond the Divide is a major fixture on the arts calendar for our region, with artists from all backgrounds and levels of expertise participating,” Dr MacDonald said.

"Our objective is to highlight the importance and value of visual art to the community. This is reflected in the fact that Art Beyond the Divide is the only regional art show that is run completely by artists, for the benefit of the arts community.

"We are pleased to have the support of both returning and new sponsors, allowing us to expand our competition categories to include for the first time two new photography sections.”
