A free event that aims to create a safe and inclusive event space for young people is taking place in Echuca this October.

The Glow Up Youth Disco is being held for high school-aged youth, between 12- and 17-years-old, and will feature a live DJ, interactive Just Dance sessions, a photo booth, and giveaways at the Fuzion Cafe.

“This disco has been co-designed with local youth to ensure it reflects their interests and ideas. It provides a fun, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies to come together and enjoy a night of music, dancing, and connection,” Campaspe Shire Council acting CEO Michael Sharp said.

The event, which is drug, smoke, vape and alcohol-free, will be overseen by youth workers alongside trained security and first aid personnel.

Free food and drink will also be provided, along with a complimentary bus service to and from the venue that will service Rochester, Tongala, Kyabram and Bendigo.

The disco will be held on Friday, October 4, between 6.30pm and 9.30pm at 258 Pakenham St, Echuca.

Registration is free and required to attend the event, with tickets found at https://www.trybooking.com/CUGRX
