Reunited: Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Andrew Costello had some good news for Robert Coog after his car, trailer and power tools were stolen last week.

A tradie has been reunited with his car, trailer and tools after they were allegedly stolen while he was mowing lawns last week.

Robert Coog had gone to Murray St in Shepparton to do some work when his car and trailer were stolen from the street outside a house at 10am on Thursday, October 26.

A blower and chainsaw he also uses in his lawn mowing business were also on the trailer.

Mr Coog was so upset with the theft that he advertised in The News classifieds on Friday, asking anyone who saw his Ford Futura and the trailer to contact police.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Andrew Costello said the trailer was found at an orchard in Shepparton East on Saturday.

On Tuesday, police found the vehicle and the power tools at a Tallygaroopna house.

Police have since been able to reunite Mr Coog with his belongings.

“He was extremely happy we could reunite him with him property,” Det Sen Constable Costello said.

The police officer also thanked people who had reported information that helped the investigation.

A Tallygaroopna man, 19, was arrested and charged with theft of a vehicle, theft of a trailer, handling stolen goods, two counts of possessing drugs and bail offences.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
