As autumn comes to a close, we thought that we would take a look at the weather throughout the season, while reminiscing of warmer days.
Looking back to the beginning of autumn — in March, the minimum mean temperature was 14.3°C whereas the maximum mean temperature was 28.5°C.
The Bureau of Meteorology recorded the lowest minimum at Echuca Aerodrome as 9.2°C and the lowest maximum as 23.6°C.
Highest minimum was 19.9°C and highest maximum was 34.2°C.
The total rainfall for the month was 24.2mm. The most rain recorded over a 24-hour period was on March 2, with a total of 14.4mm.
April was the month with the highest rainfall, with a total amount of 90.6mm. The most rainfall recorded over a 24-hour period was 35.8mm on Tuesday, April 19.
Records have shown that the average minimum temperature was 11.7°C, while the maximum was 22.3°C.
April’s lowest minimum temperature was documented at 7.2°C in contrast to the lowest maximum of 17.2°C.
The highest minimum was 16.5°C whereas the highest maximum 29.4°C.
There was less rainfall over the month of May with an average of 45.4mm.
Thursday, May 26 had the most rainfall at 14.8mm.
May 2022 saw a significant increase in rainfall, in comparison to May 2021, which only had a total of 14.6mm of rain.
The minimum mean temperature in May was 7.1°C whereas the maximum mean temperature was 17.1°C.
In dissimilarity to March’s lowest minimum of 9.2°C, May’s lowest was reported as 2°C with a lowest maximum of 11.5°C.
BOM identified the highest minimum temperature in May 2022 as being 14.8°C and the highest maximum as 21.2°C. This is in striking contrast to May 2021’s highest minimum of 11.8°C and highest maximum of 27.3°C.
The first two days of winter have had no rainfall. The minimum mean temperature has so far been recorded at 1.5°C, while the maximum mean is currently sitting at 13.8°C.
The lowest minimum temperature reached over the first two days of June was 0.5°C.
Echuca residents can expect rain over the first weekend in June.
