Goorambat has been starring at an exhibition in Melbourne aimed at bringing more people into the city centre as well as out to regional areas.

The Urban Mini Silo Art Trail features three miniature replicas of Victoria’s iconic wheat silos that have been painted.

Replicas of the Goorambat silos are joined by the Sheep Hills silos, as well as the Albacutya silos near Rainbow, at the exhibition at Federation Square.

The mini silos went on display on January 21, with the exhibition finishing on Thursday, March 31.

Sitting about 2.5m tall, the mini silos have offered city residents a chance to see some of the attractions that are available in the country.

Juddy Roller creative director and Silo Art Trail founder Shaun Hossack said the exhibition had been fantastic.

“It’s been an honour to bring something so important to the regions to the city,” he said.

“It’s had a really good reception.

“I’m always honoured to be able to contribute to any project that brings so much to regional Australia.”

Mr Hossack said in the short time the exhibition had been running, it had had a flow-on effect and had already enticed people to visit the state’s regional areas.

“I’ve had people say they’ve only visited the (actual) silos after seeing the art in the city,” he said.
