Goulburn Options raffle winners announced, Easter egg hunt a sweet success

Excited: Goulburn Options participants gather to draw the winners for the Easter raffle.

Seymour disability support service Goulburn Options has raised an impressive $5702 with its Easter raffle, drawing winners on Monday, April 3.

With all prizes donated by the local community, the funds will go towards organising a special outing for Goulburn Options’ 120 participants and 80 staff members, as well as equipment for its centres.

Raffle winners were drawn by Goulburn Options participants, all winners have been notified, including one lucky staff member.

Last year, the raffle raised $5000, which was used to pay for 70 people to go to the zoo.

This year's funds will be put towards another outing and equipment for the Station St and High St centres.

Goulburn Options organiser Bridget Shields said that this year’s excursion would be to a new location, with the aim of making it suitable and inclusive for everyone.

"We now have to brainstorm all of the fun things we can do for everyone," she said.

The group is also looking to repair some bikes participants use and install swings at both the Station St and High St centres.

The organisers thanked everyone who donated prizes and participated in the raffle, noting that the funds raised would go a long way in supporting the organisation's activities.

Adding to the Easter spirit, an Easter egg hunt was held for Goulburn Options participants on Thursday, April 6.

They searched in the garden, trees and the Goulburn Options centre to collect the eggs. Some of the participants made hats to mark the occasion.

Ms Shields said the organisation had plenty more community events planned, including a pop-up art show at Tastes of the Goulburn and a high tea for Mother’s Day.

“The more community events everyone can get involved in, that our participants can also be involved in and be a part of the community, the better. It's fun times ahead,” Ms Shields said.
