Healthy turnout: Residents give their time for Clean Up Australia Day in Shepparton last year.

Shepparton residents are encouraged to don the gloves and grab the garbage bags this weekend for Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, March 5.

A number of community events are being held across the Goulburn Valley.

Those in Shepparton can gather near the footbridge off Tom Collins Dve at 10am on Sunday to clean up the nature reserve along the Goulburn River from Aquamoves and beyond.

Parks Victoria officials will be in attendance for a safety run down before the clean up begins.

Mooroopna Cemetery car park will be the meeting point for Mooroopna residents this Sunday.

From 9am, the community will aim to clean the 2km of Echuca Rd from the town boundary past the cemetery.

The Congupna Tallygaroopna Landcare Group will be hosting a clean up site at Station Park (former railway station) next to the Goulburn Valley Hwy.

Anyone is welcome and those getting along on Sunday are encouraged to bring a water bottle, wear hi-vis vests, sun-smart clothing and enclosed shoes.

Gloves and bags will be available; you may like to bring buckets to put your rubbish in and pick-up tools if you have them.
