Volunteer emergency services organisations across the Goulburn Valley have received a funding boost.

State Member for Northern Victoria and Emergency Services Minister Jaclyn Symes announced the 2024-25 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program, with nine recipients in northern Victoria sharing in over $400,000 to purchase new equipment, improve emergency response capability and support community safety.

Recipients include:

  • Shepparton Search and Rescue received funding for a Hino Truck build
  • Mooroopna CFA received funding for minor upgrades
  • St John Ambulance Goulburn Valley Division received funding for interior upgrades at the facility
  • Violet Town CFA received funding for a field command vehicle
  • Seymour SES received funding for a 4x4 replacement vehicle
  • CFA District 12 headquarters received funding for minor upgrades
  • Balmattum CFA received funding for upgrades at the station
  • Molka CFA received funding for purchasing equipment
  • Sheans Creek CFA received funding for a roller door and hose drying racks

“Our emergency services volunteers work incredibly hard to keep our communities safe, which is why we’ve invested more than $138 million in VESEP grants to support the critical work they do,” Ms Symes said.

VESEP is an annual grants program that provides Victorian emergency services volunteer groups funding for resources, equipment and facilities so they can continue supporting local communities.

This round of grants, recipients across Victoria shared in over $15 million to help serve the communities they protect, with CFA brigades receiving more than $11 million, Victorian SES units receiving more than $2.5 million, Life Saving Victoria’s surf lifesaving clubs receiving over $879,000 and Marine Search and Rescue crews receiving over $368,000.
