Gourmet treats, cooking workshops and live music await at Tastes of the Goulburn

Savour the moment: Tastes of the Goulburn provides a chance for foodies from far and wide to deepen their knowledge of the Goulburn Valley region.

Seymour’s iconic street festival, celebrating food, wine, and fun, has revealed some of the producers who will be there to share their culinary expertise.

Tastes of the Goulburn is an opportunity to discover new products and flavours, sample gourmet produce, and meet producers.

There will be live music and entertainment, wine tastings, produce vendors, food vans, and the producer’s kitchen, where some of the most compelling culinary talents from around the region will team up to deliver live cooking workshops using regional produce.

At the producer’s kitchen stage, attendees can learn new cooking techniques and experiment with regional ingredients while discovering the stories behind Goulburn Valley’s best produce.

The lineup will include:

10.30am to 11am: Kids and cookies with Crumbs & Co

Sue Ellis will present a cookie decorating workshop to satisfy the sweet tooth and delight the young and young at heart.

Noon to 12.30pm: Craft brew and BBQ with Tooborac Brewery and The Meat Room

James Carlin and James Mele will show you how to impress guests and improve your grill game with insider secrets on using craft beer to flavour, cook and drink.

1pm to 1.30pm: Ricotta duets with How Now Dairy and Divine Mushrooms

Discover how to create fresh ricotta at home with the finest produce from one of Australia’s ethical dairies. Learn from Cathy Palmer and Simon Willis and explore delicious ingredients that will give your creations a sweet or savoury twist.

2pm to 2.30pm: Food, people, story with Tahbilk and Happy Little Accidents

Johnny Mackerson, Tahbilk’s head chef, and Aimee Cahill will showcase flavours from Taungurung country in a collaboration that pays homage to the region’s diverse food, people and stories.

3pm to 3.30pm: Slow and saucy with Goulburn Valley Pork and Allenbee Fields Preserves

Learn about free-ranging pigs and sustainable pasture management from Troy Pycroft and Lee Buttler and discover cooking techniques to create a mouthwatering slow-cooked pork shoulder with raspberry chilli sauce.

Foodies of all tastes and ages will enjoy the 2024 producer’s kitchen lineup, featuring the Goulburn Valley’s talented chefs, growers, producers and restaurateurs.

The entry price for the food and wine festival is $35 and includes an official event-tasting glass. The first 1000 tickets purchased will also receive a Tastes of the Goulburn tote bag.

Tastes of the Goulburn is on Saturday, April 27, from 10am to 4pm at Station St, Seymour.
