Victorian Government grants of between $20,000 and $50,000 are available to support local creative professionals with big ideas to transform their practice and activities for up to six months.

The Creators Fund supports creatives to undertake the kind of intensive research, development or experimentation that leads to groundbreaking creative work.

Since its launch in 2018, the fund has supported almost 160 Victorian creatives.

Applications are open to Victorian individuals and collectives at all career stages working in any creative field, including digital games, literature, craft, theatre, music, screen, dance, visual art, fashion and design.

There are dedicated streams for First Peoples creatives, and deaf and disabled creatives.

State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes encouraged creative professionals from across northern Victoria to apply.

“In any industry, innovation requires dedicated time for research, experimentation and development,” Ms Symes said.

“Devoting time to this vital work can be a challenge for many northern Victorian independent creatives.”

Applications close at 3pm on Wednesday, February 22, with the deaf and disabled stream closing at 3pm on Wednesday, March 1.
