Greater Shepparton Seniors Festival: What’s on in week one

The 2023 Victorian Seniors Festival is fast approaching! From October 1 to 31, senior citizens in Greater Shepparton are invited to partake in free to low-cost activities. Find details of week one’s events below:

Launch event: Breakfast with the Birds

An avian adventure awaits! Presented by RiverConnect and Birdlife Murray Goulburn, Breakfast with the Birds invites all to identify the fantastic bird species at Reedy Swamp while enjoying a delicious complimentary breakfast.

Light Horse Display

War horse: Shepparton Heritage Centre is hosting a Light Horse Display every Tuesday and Sunday throughout the Seniors Festival.

Shepparton Heritage Centre has several artefacts from World War I, World War II and the 1938 celebration ‘Blossom Town’ on display. Plus, a 15-minute film presentation on war service members and the light horse troops running hourly and on-demand.

Taste flavours and experience cultures from around the world in your own backyard. The St George’s Rd Food Festival promises an afternoon of fun, festivities and live entertainment. A seniors stall with tables and chairs will be set up with crossword puzzles, sudoku, colouring, trivia questions and more. A Seniors Cultural Dress fashion parade will be on stage from 5.25pm to 5.50pm.
