Euroa Hospital officially became a campus of Goulburn Valley Health on Monday, August 12.
Its role will include providing acute care services to the local community as part of the Victorian public health system.
This transition secures long-term hospital services in Euroa, following the successful transfer from former private operator Euroa Health Incorporated to GV Health.
Euroa Health Inc transferred only its hospital service to GV Health and will continue to deliver aged care, community and allied health care services.
More than 20 former Euroa Health Incorporated nursing and support staff have transferred to GV Health, continuing their roles at Euroa Hospital. Stuart Riddett, who joined GV Health in May 2024, will oversee the hospital’s daily operations as director of nursing/campus manager.
“We are pleased to have been able to work with Euroa Health Incorporated to secure hospital services in the community for the long term,” GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said.
“Most importantly, we are excited to welcome all of the staff joining our GV Health team at Euroa Hospital, who are already hard at work providing the best quality care for the people of Euroa and the surrounding regions.”
The hospital remains accessible via Weir St, Euroa, with a new phone number: 5795 4000. For more information, visit the new Euroa Hospital Facebook page (www.facebook.com/EuroaHospital) or the GV Health website (www.gvhealth.org.au/our-services/euroa-hospital).
