In a field where few can claim total success, GV Hospice has achieved a remarkable feat.

The organisation has met all 20 benchmarks outlined in the latest Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) Report, surpassing the national community average, which meets only seven of the 20 benchmarks.

“A deep commitment to the provision of quality palliative care over time has seen the GV Hospice team achieve this extraordinary result,” PCOC improvement facilitator Kylie Draper said.

“GV Hospice has steadily improved over time, and we congratulate them on these patient outcomes.”

The benchmarks assess critical aspects of palliative care, including pain management, symptom control and timely care delivery.

All of which are essential for enhancing the comfort and dignity of patients.

GV Hospice chief executive Wendy Ross expressed immense pride in their team’s achievement.

“Our team is proud to be recognised in this way and for the work we’ve done to support increasing numbers of patients and their families during one of the most challenging times in their lives,” she said.

“Exceeding expectations in all areas of the PCOC report is a testament to the skill, compassion and dedication of our staff and the partners we work with.”
