Westside’s stage will be creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky as students from Goulburn Valley Grammar School take the stage this week for their 2023 senior production.
After years of COVID-19-affected productions, the school is back on stage with a full-blown production of The Addams Family.
This will be the school’s first show with orchestrated music, stage sets and costumes since the 2019 production of Oliver!
A cast of 35 students from Year 7 to 12 will dazzle audiences with their singing, dancing and acting.
The cast members have been working hard with weekly rehearsals since February, sacrificing school holidays and weekends to perfect their performance.
Iconic characters such as Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday and Uncle Fester will be brought to life through the senior students’ performances.
The show is directed by Helen Janke and choreographed by school alumnus Nicola Bolton.
“The students have worked really hard,” Mrs Janke said.
“The cast performances are stunning.”
Production regulars will return to the stage for their final year with the school, such as Year 12 students Lizzie Locke as Morticia, Lillie Walker as Wednesday and Henry White as Uncle Fester.
“It’s really funny and just a great family night out,” Mrs Janke said.
“I'm just excited that we’re back on stage doing a full show.”
