Harpist treat at community thank you

Harpist Hilary Manning.

A large audience gathered on Sunday to thank Cheryl Fuller for her 35 years of service and dedication to South West Music.

As a bonus, they were treated to a performance by harpist Hilary Manning.

SWM also officially welcomed Ray Davy as the new board chair on the day.

Mr Davy comes from Balranald and has substantial experience in economic development in regional Australia.

The event was part of South West Music’s Live Music Concert Series, and Manning played a collection featuring familiar classical music and more contemporary Australian pieces.

The harpist travelled from Narrandera, presenting a performance which has also been delivered to audiences in England, Finland, Canada and The Czech Republic, among other countries.

“Being in a rural New South Wales, we are very fortunate to be able to treat our community to such interesting and dynamic performances,” SWM said.

“We thank our community for their ongoing loyal support by attending our events.

“We offer annual subscriptions to our live music series.

“These memberships cost $120 and give you access to all of our events.

“If you haven’t already purchased your subscription, you can do this from the Conservatorium (241-245 Cressy Street, Deniliquin).

“We couldn’t do events like this, or teach music, without the support of the New South Wales Department of Education, and all of our valuable sponsors and partners - 2QN, Edward River Council, South West Arts, and the Deniliquin Pastoral Times.”
