Harriman Point to close for two weeks

Temporary closure: Works have been scheduled to avoid peak season.

Harriman Point recreation area is set for a temporary closure due to routine maintenance in early May.

Goulburn-Murray Water will repair erosion damage to the high-level boat ramp.

Work starts on Monday, May 6, and should last two weeks, weather permitting.

“With water levels at Waranga Basin having dropped due to irrigation demand and drier weather, the sections of the ramp we need to repair are now above the waterline,” G-MW storage operations south manager Paul Beard said.

“We have timed the works to ensure they do not coincide with a time of high use. However, to ensure public safety, we will be closing the recreation area until the works are complete.”

Boat ramps at Caravan Park Reserve and Sapling Point will remain open.

“We thank people for their patience during the works and look forward to reopening the boat ramp when it is back in optimum condition,” Mr Beard said.
