State Liberal Candidate for Euroa Brad Hearn said he would fight for better investment in regional sporting clubs and healthcare if elected in November.

“Our plan will deliver real solutions to fix the health crisis,” Mr Hearn said.

“We will rebuild our crumbling health system by constructing or upgrading hospitals across Victoria.

“We will attract, retain and reward the staff we need to run a health system that local communities can trust and rely on.

“We will support the mental health of young Victorians by placing a mental health professional in every Victorian school.”

Mr Hearn said that a vote for the Victorian Liberal party would:

  • Deliver five new major hospitals in Melton, Mildura, West Gippsland, Wodonga and a dedicated new Infectious Diseases Response Centre;
  • Deliver a major rebuild or upgrades to the Rosebud, St Arnaud and Sandringham hospitals;
  • Halve Victoria’s record elective surgery wait lists within four years;
  • Attract, retain and reward staff with free public transport for more than 260,000 healthcare workers;
  • Place a mental health professional in every Victorian school; and
  • offer rebates of up to $4,500 for IVF and fertility treatment.

“As a school principal I know our kids should come first in all levels of governance,” Mr Hearn said.

Vote for me to ensure that our kids have the support they need in our country schools.”

Mr Hearn said he would also advocate for increased investment in sporting clubs in the Euroa electorate.

“The lack of change facilities for those playing netball is inequitable and historic,” he said.

“The deteriorating conditions of our club rooms across the rural areas of our community are evidence of the ongoing need for rural investment.

“This is the case for many sporting clubs not just football and netball.

“Field lighting is essential in providing a place to train and come together as a community, and this allows sporting grounds to have a multifunctional use in supporting their towns.

“Playgrounds are essential in brining communities together.

“Even more so in demonstrating healthy behaviours to our children, such as participating in country sport.

“We need to be encouraging investment into our clubs to make it easier for families to participate in community sport and connect with their town.”
