Strathbogie Shire Council is seeking input from the Euroa community on a new mountain bike trail network.

The proposed track is a 13.9km trail network at Balmattum Reserve, that complements the natural landscape, caters to a variety of rider ages and abilities, and showcases the area’s natural assets.

To ensure the trail network design aligns with the preferences of users, and accurately estimates the impact of the project on the community and economy, council is conducting an online survey.

The survey is part of the development of a feasibility study, in collaboration with consulting and engineering company Stantec.

Council administrator Peter Stephenson said he encouraged all community members, visitors and interested groups to have their say.

“The five- to 10-minute survey aims to gauge interest and gather feedback from residents, avid mountain bikers, outdoor enthusiasts and other stakeholders,” he said.

“At the end of this survey, Stantec will prepare a comprehensive business case to support the funding plan for this project, which contributes to enhancing recreational opportunities, promoting outdoor tourism and fostering a sense of community pride.”
