Heritage Conservation Grants distributed

The recipients of Greater Shepparton City Council’s 2024/25 Heritage Conservation Grants have been announced.

The grants, totalling $79,863.60, have been allocated to nine properties, to help support restoration and conversation works for heritage-listed properties across the region.

The recipients include:

  • 33 McLennan St, Mooroopna: Slate roof repairs ($12,190)
  • 2-10 Walshe St, Tatura: Facade restoration ($7398)
  • 815 Crawford Rd, Tatura: Exterior painting and window frame repairs ($12,000)
  • 102 Nixon St, Shepparton: Damp proofing, patching and repairs ($5081.60)
  • 72-74 Corio St, Shepparton: Foundation stabilisation and verandah repairs ($12,000)
  • 715 Midland Hwy, Shepparton East: Verandah repairs and French door replacement ($12,000)
  • 110 Craven Rd, Tatura: Roof removal and replacement ($10,452)
  • 7 Victoria St, Tallygaroopna: Building underpinning and re-levelling ($6962)
  • 915 Springvale Rd, Harston: Flashing replacement and re-mudding ($1780)

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the program would help future generations appreciate the heritage-listed sites.

“Our heritage sites are an essential part of Greater Shepparton’s identity, connecting us to our history and shaping our community’s character,” he said.

“It is fantastic to see so many successful applicants this year undertaking vital conservation projects.

“These efforts ensure that our region’s cultural heritage is preserved for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.”

Applications for the 2025/26 Heritage Conservation Grants will open next year.
