Horses for Hope is here to help the community; however, recently the community helped it.

The Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna donated $1000 to Horses for Hope for use in its programs that rebuild the lives of damaged horses and people who have experienced trauma or depression.

“Horses for Hope is extremely appreciative of the support we have received from the Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna,” Horses for Hope horse practitioner Amy Turner said.

The charity has plans to use the money to expand its offerings to better meet demand and to subsidise sessions as much as it can.

Horses for Hope is aiming to double the number of sessions it can run by expanding site capability and training, and recruiting specialist staff.

It also hopes to replicate the program at other locations in the future, to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.

“We are very firm in making this program as accessible as possible regardless of participants’ financial position,” Ms Turner said.

“We have a commitment to make the program as accessible as we can to everyone who needs it.”
