Fluoro outfits, crimped hair leg warmers, mullets, parachute pants and tulle skirts - they were all in fashion again at the ‘On Angel’s Wings’ Sh*tbox Rally trivia night fundraiser on June 1.
More than 100 people participated in the quiz night, which also included a raffle and auction.
On Angel’s Wings rally team members Peata Smith and Tanya Spring were supported by quiz master Michael Pisasale, judges Adrian Smith and Leonie King and auctioneers John Fitzpatrick and Marc Braybon in their quest to raise as much money as they could for the Cancer Council.
The winning team was ‘Marky Mark and The Drunk Bunch’, with members sharing the $500 Moama Bowling Club voucher prize.
Second was ‘The Sixth Sense’ (8 x $50 Ampol/Purtills vouchers) and third was the ‘VHS Vigilantes’ ($100 Deniliquin RSL Club voucher). Coming in last and claiming the free drink from the bar for each team member was ‘Underdeveloped’.
Results of the raffle were as follows:
• 1st: Seven night accommodation package at Anchorage Lake House Yarrawonga, donated by Anchorage Lake House - Melissa Wardlaw.
• 2nd: Harvey Norman rug donated by K Hubbard, Lavington - Barb Hay.
• 3rd: Milwalkee 2-piece drill set donated by Total Tools - Karyn Bull
• 4th: 10-person Wanderer tent donated by BCF Cranbourne - Faye Croft.
• 5th: Two night accommodation package at Tarragon Lodge donated by Liz Pyke and a $100 voucher for The Timbercutter voucher donated by Joel Smith and Kalli Crump - Val Thompson.
• 6th: Portable power pack donated by Elders Deniliquin - Rachel Butcher.
• 7th: Cottages on Edward accommodation voucher donated by Richard and Pat Fogarty - Suzie and Craig Behsman.
