4.Community Programs

They pride themselves on being accessible and welcoming to everyone in our community, providing a broad range of quality programs, services, and activities to increase life opportunities, choices, and skills.

YMCLC believe in actively promoting self-help, personal and community development, and linking people to information, knowledge, and social activities. YMCLC offers a whole of community service that works towards creating trusting partnerships and collaboration with key local and regional agencies to develop a coordinated approach to building positive social capital, skills, and access to services, as well as providing direct services to clients and fostering self-help.

YMCLC’s aim is to be the Yarrawonga and district area's primary provider of:

•Education and vocational training

•Welfare, Social and Homelessness inclusion programs

  • Community development
  • Information and referral to other services

As the town’s only physical Registered Training Organisation, YMCLC offer the local area a range of: Nationally Accredited Courses: Pre Accredited Courses: and Vocational Short Courses.

Whether starting a career in aged or early childhood care, upskilling with a hospitality short course, or simply looking to learn a new skill like photography, passionate and experienced trainers provide courses for every interest.

Since the start of 2029 YMCLC has introduced a number of community programs and services, which ultimately mean a new and improved experience for everyone that they encounter.

The free Community Shower Program provides a practical hygiene solution for people who do not have safe, dignified and supportive access to showers. It runs every Friday at 9am from the Yarrawonga Senior Citizens centre

Most recently YMCLC have launched the Connecting Community in the Upper Hume Pilot program. This social prescribing program aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness by linking geoole into community groups and activities.
