Twinkling lights, Christmas Moooving Art Cows and giant bauble ornaments are just some of Greater Shepparton’s festive decorations up and ready to be marvelled at.
Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Greater Shepparton City Council invites everyone to explore the range of events and activities in celebration of the upcoming holiday season.
The Moooving Art Cows have been a part of Shepparton’s landscape and a must-see tourist attraction since the early 2000s.
Over the Christmas period, be sure to stop by the Visitor Centre on Wyndham St, where you’ll find three of the iconic cows, including Moodolph and the sleigh.
Carols by Candlelight is set to take over the Queen’s Gardens, on the corner of Wyndham and Nixon streets, on Sunday, December 18 for a magical evening of musical talent and Christmas spirit.
In addition to the annual carolling event, council has organised a Christmas market on the riverbank of Murchison and a chance to create special Christmas tree decorations in Mooroopna.

Santa’s Mailbox returns to the Australia Post Office on Wyndham St and is accepting children’s letters to Santa until Friday, December 2.
Letters must be addressed to: Santa, North Pole, 9999.
Be sure to include a name and address on the back, as well as a 65c Christmas stamp attached to the front, in order to receive a reply from the jolly man in red himself.
In the countdown to Christmas, a Winter Wonderland Christmas Hub will be open in the Maude St Mall from December 1 to Christmas Eve.
Whether it’s Christmas lists, gift wrapping, children’s activities or to track down a few cheeky elves, the Christmas Hub has something for everyone.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali believes the Winter Wonderland will alleviate the stress of gift-giving.
“Support our local businesses by visiting the Christmas Hub and get help with gift wrapping and finding the perfect gift for your friends and family,” he said.
Cr Sali said this should be a time for well wishes and caring, and he was excited to see the joy of Christmas continue to spread throughout Greater Shepparton during the festive season.
“Keep your eye out for the decorations across Greater Shepparton over the coming weeks, we hope they bring a little happiness and cheer to the region,” he said.
