For 57 years, the Young family has been a step ahead in providing quality footwear and sole-ful experiences to Shepparton shoppers.

Sadly, as all good things must come to an end, Jeff Young Shoes — formerly Clyde Young Shoes (1967-1993) — is closing its doors for a final time.

“We’ve been blessed to have a fantastic business,” Jeff Young said.

“With great loyal staff and generations of families, it’s been a real honour to be tying shoelaces for well over 40 years myself.”

He said those who’d visited the shoe store since it opened in the 1960s were familiar with its staff’s outstanding service, who go above and beyond with fitting, helping them to “find their toe” and even lacing up their footwear.

“We have never been in a hurry to rush a customer out,” Mr Young said.

“We pride ourselves on listening to the stories of our customers.

“I suppose it’s been about creating friendships in that regard.

“It gives me great joy to know that the customer leaves the store happy with the time spent, much more than the dollars that go through the till.”

Generations of families have found their favourite pair of comfy shoes at the shop throughout the decades, from their first pair of school shoes to footwear for many a special occasion.

The store will continue trading until the heavily reduced items remaining in stock are all sole-d or at the end of February 2025, whichever comes first.

Jeff Young Shoes invites shoppers to step in and celebrate the end of an era before all that remains in its Maude St location is its footprint.
