Goulburn Valley Health’s ‘Jobs @ GV Health Day’ proved to be a success, connecting job seekers and potential employers with hospital staff in a bid to reduce workforce shortages.
The event provided an opportunity for job seekers to showcase their skills and qualifications, while allowing GV Health hiring managers to identify and shortlist promising candidates.
The event was a success, with over 150 people attending and over 130 formal expressions of interest within a variety of roles such as support services, clinical roles, information technology, administration, food services and volunteering.
Acting talent acquisition manager Sheridan Fitch said the day was targeted towards the promotion of GV Health’s support services, roles and opportunities.
“It was great to see the GV Health community come together to support the day, as well as the engagement from the wider community,” she said.
“Given the success of the day and volume of interest, we are busily working through the applicants and will be in contact with candidates soon for feedback and interviews.”
The event was well-equipped, with various departments within GV Health setting up booths to showcase their services and engage with potential candidates.
On-the-spot interviews were held, allowing job seekers to make a strong impression and demonstrate their suitability for the available positions.
Many job seekers expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to connect with potential employers in a supportive and professional environment.
They highlighted the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the event, which helped to ease their nerves and build their confidence during the interview process.
Ms Fitch said they were overwhelmed with the success of the event and thanked all those who helped make the day possible.
“We look forward to making this an ongoing event at GV Health,” she said.
