Johnny Cash and June Carter tribute act set to take the stage in Echuca

Get excited, the popular Johnny Cash and June Carter tribute act is coming to Echuca in October.

Real-life married couple Mark and Joanne Caligirui star in the tribute act as the renowned, bubbly country duo and will perform at Echuca Paramount on October 8.

Their close-knit family vibe is reminiscent of the classic country act, assisted by Mark’s sons Chris (double bass), Lucas (drums) and his cousin Adam Prozzo (lead guitar). Their performance will include many well-known, loved, crowd choices such as I Walk The Line, Folsom Prison Blues, Jackson, Ring of Fire and countless others.

Over the past 15 years, the Caligiuris performed Cash live across Australia, with countless sold-out shows and glowing reviews.

“When the movie [Walk the Line] came out in Australia 2006, I was so excited and told Mark we had to go as I was a fan of Cash,” Mrs Caligirui said.

“After we saw the movie, Mark became a fan of the music, so we decided to create our own Johnny Cash show”.

Years of touring shaped what they sought to portray through their acts, an opportunity for live music lovers to enjoy Mark and Joanne’s natural talent.

“We [perform] an energetic show and to … feel the connection with each other too as that was an important part to John and June,” Mr Caligirui said.

Audiences can be ensured a positive, enlightening experience throughout the show, including some crowd participation and involvement.

Live performances aside, their online presence on YouTube (more specifically their cover of Johnny Cash and June Carter’s “Cause I Love You”) has received more than 52,000 views.

Echuca will warmly welcome the Caligiuris back, after their well received The King, The Queen and a Whole Lotta Cash show that was performed at Radcliffe’s Function Centre back in January 2018.
