Thompson’s Beach will see multiple baptisms at the Murray River on Sunday, November 26.
About 10 to 15 soon-to-be baptised belong to the Ignite Life Church in Cobram and are all of various ages.
Some of them include Solomon Island workers who have come to work in the region.
Along with baptism, there will be worship music and a shared meal at the end of the proceedings to celebrate the event.
Baptism is considered an essential rite for Christians and a way to publicly declare a person’s belief and discipleship with Jesus Christ.
In the Bible, many baptisms, including that of Jesus Christ himself, were conducted in the River Jordan, and the tradition of river baptisms has continued throughout centuries.
