Keep the kids busy this school holidays

With the Christmas period behind us, there is still plenty for kids to look forward to these school holidays.

Mitchell Shire Council is running a series of workshops at libraries around the shire.

A nature painting and craft workshop will be run at Seymour Library on Friday, January 20 from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Make a foosball game from a shoebox at Kilmore Library on Wednesday, January 11 or Monday, January 16 from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Play with clay at Broadford Library on Friday, January 13 and Tuesday, January 17 from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Seymour Youth Room will be open Tuesday, January 17 from noon to 2pm, snacks will be provided and kids will have the chance to challenge council staff to a board game.

Although Seymour outdoor pool is closed this summer, the shire’s other outdoor pools are open and have free entry for the rest of the summer season.

Free swim passes are available on the shire website for Seymour and Kilmore indoor pools, the pass includes snacks and a drink. People aged between 12 and 24 who live, study or socialise in the shire are able to apply.

The Nagambie Splash Park is yet to open; however, testing of the park is under way.

There are skate parks in Seymour, Nagambie, Avenel and Euroa for the kids to have a skate.
