Kids cool off at Blue Light pool party

Mitch Bull was looking skyward for much of the morning on Saturday, on the eve of yet another Kyabram Blue Light Disco pool party.

But he needn’t have bothered as perfect conditions for the event arrived and more than 180 children turned up to celebrate the occasion.

“For the last couple of pool parties we have had thunderstorms in the lead up to the event, so I was a little nervous,” he said.

Two brand new mountain bikes were given away as lucky door prizes at the disco, each of the children at the disco were given a wrist band with a registration number — used for the drawing of the bikes, along with vouchers to Kyabram Subway and the Kyabram rodeo in March

Kyabram Rotary Club supported the event with a barbecue and Kyabram Fire Brigade also had a presence during the evening.

The evening also included a 50-metre noodle race and swimming races to keep the masses entertained — along with the pumping beats that rang out through the town for the three hours of the pool party.
