The kitchen of a west Deniliquin home has been mostly destroyed by flames.

Emergency services were called to the Davies Crt home about 6pm Wednesday.

Deniliquin Fire + Rescue NSW Deputy Captain Les Booth said the blaze appears to have started on the stove, as a likely fat fire.

“We saved the fire from getting into the roof, but the stove and range hood were destroyed.

“Some of the cabinets were also damaged.

“We were able to contain the fire to the kitchen, but there was smoke damage to other parts of the home.

“After the fire was extinguished, we worked to ventilate the home, remaining on scene for a few hours.”

Deniliquin Ambulance NSW paramedics were also on scene, but Dep Capt Booth said no-one required treatment.

Deniliquin Police also responded to the call for assistance, but confirmed there would be no investigation as the fire was not deemed suspicious.
