Woman airlifted to hospital following Knight St crash

A woman has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition following a two-vehicle crash on Knight St, Shepparton on Friday afternoon.

Shepparton police sergeant Josh McCabe said a driver performed an illegal U-turn in front of another car and was T-boned near Marungi St, about 3.45pm on February 17.

The T-boned car ended up in the front yard of a Knight St property and the female driver was extricated by firefighters and rescue crews.

Ambulance Victoria said a woman was treated by paramedics at the scene for upper body injuries in a critical condition, and was airlifted to hospital in Melbourne.

The other driver was taken to Goulburn Valley Health for observation in a stable condition.

Traffic was blocked in both directions on Knight St while emergency services were on scene.

Sgt McCabe said police were investigating the crash and asked anyone with CCTV footage or who witnessed the incident to call the Shepparton Police Station on 5820 5777.
