As we draw closer to the Kyabram RV and Country Music Festival, local businesses are pitching in to event funds to make sure this year is as unforgettable as years past.
The Kyabram RV and Country Music Festival has been a staple of Kyabram’s spring calendar since it was established in 2012.
Last year, the festival saw hundreds of patrons walk through the gates of the Kyabram Showgrounds over the week, with many travelling from interstate to enjoy all that northern Victoria had to offer.
This year, the festival has received a $2000 helping hand thanks to the Kyabram Club.
Festival treasurer John Veenstra said this money would go towards putting on another great show, much like last year’s.
“Any funding we get helps us with everything,” Mr Veenstra said.
“Last year, the donation we received from Ky Club went towards fencing so that we could focus on making sure the entertainment comes from all over Australia.
“We’re excited with what we have in store this year.”
The Kyabram Club has been generous towards many community groups and events in years past, and general manager Greg Ryan said the Kyabram RV Country Music Festival was no different.
“At Ky Club, we’re committed to supporting local events, and we’re very proud to be able to support such a staple event that brings visitors to Kyabram,” Mr Ryan said.
This year’s festival is scheduled to start Wednesday, November 6 and run through to Sunday, November 10, with over 200 caravans and RV’s expected to flood into the Kyabram Showgrounds.
In addition, the annual bush market, now known as the Kyabram Spring Market, will be held on Friday, November 8.
This year’s festival boasts an impressive line-up of country music talent, featuring the likes of Lance Birrell, Owen Blundell, Don Costa, Sandie Dodd, Evan Platschinda and Justin Standley.
Camping is available at the showgrounds for $20 per night unpowered or $25 per night with limited power.
Bookings can be made by phoning John and Aileen Veenstra on 5853 2933.
