Echuca Regional Health is hosting its annual Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving.
Open to all, this service gives the public an opportunity to acknowledge, remember and give thanks for the lives of people cared for by the ERH.
The non-denominational service will be conducted by Ruth Turpin, and will feature readings as well as songs performed by local talent Indi Gilmore.
Readings and prayers are done by palliative care and hospital staff as family, carers and staff have time to reflect and grieve the people who have passed away at ERH and Glanville Village over the past 12 months.
Taking place at the end of National Palliative Care Week, this service concludes a week of recognising the importt work palliative care staff do at ERH, recognising the bereavement care the ERH Community Palliative Care team undertake for families and loved ones of patients they have cared for.
Community members are also encouraged to bring along any memorabilia such as photos, flowers or mementos to be placed on the memorial table, and people can also light a candle in memory of their loved ones during the service if they wish.
This service is a time for the ERH community to gather together and support each other through their grief, and say goodbye to those who have passed on.
Following the service, a light supper will be served to end the afternoon.
The service will take place on Friday, May 24, from 4.30pm at the Echuca Regional Health Education Centre.
If you’re interested in attending, RSVP to Angela Procter via emailing aprocter@erh.org.au or by phoning 5485 5902.
