Big rigs, big responsibility, big names. You could call this event a big deal.

The Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Victoria conference is being held in the Goulburn Valley this Friday and Saturday, August 16 and 17.

LRTAV represents 200 rural and regional livestock carriers — small, medium and large — throughout the state.

Livestock transportation is a specialised field in the transport industry that requires drivers and operators to be highly skilled and proficient in animal welfare, and effluent and hygiene management.

The annual conference, which was held in Ballarat last year, is an opportunity to network, learn and shape the future of livestock and rural transport.

More than 180 people are expected to attend the event at the Museum of Vehicle Evolution in Kialla, with trade and truck displays, including B-triples, guest speakers, presentations and industry key players joining the crowd.

Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico will be on site interacting with guests and filming for his travel show Dipper’s Destinations.

Tickets are available at trybooking.com for the full conference, including all dining events, or for individual events such as the LRTAV forum, industry sessions, conferences, meet and greet awards session, women in business, breakout sessions, annual general meeting or the gala dinner and auction.

The conference will be held at MOVE, Emerald Bank, 7723 Goulburn Valley Hwy, Kialla.

The program starts at noon on Friday, August 16, and winds up at 11pm on Saturday, August 17.
