Australian netball legend Liz Ellis will be the keynote speaker at the sold-out South West Dairy Ladies’ Luncheon on Thursday, August 15.

“We are so excited to welcome Liz Ellis to this year’s South West Dairy Ladies’ Luncheon thanks to the generous sponsorship of Westpac, who’ve supported this event for a number of years,” committee member Belinda Doolan, who farms at Ecklin South, said.

“The ladies’ luncheon has grown incredibly since it began about 15 years ago and is only going from strength to strength,” Belinda said.

“We sell-out every year and with women marking the event as a ‘not-to-be missed’ on their calendars.”

Liz Ellis is a former netball great and much-respected voice in Australian sports media, having forged a career as a thoughtful advocate for women’s sport.

She is equally at home in front of the camera or behind a microphone as she is coaching her daughter’s junior netball team and working on her family farm.

“We are very much looking forward to hearing Liz’s inspirational story,” Belinda said.

“Dairy farming can be stressful — it is physically challenging and mentally exhausting, especially in the operating conditions we are experiencing.

“The South West Dairy Ladies’ Luncheon Committee takes pride in the fact that this event also helps address women’s mental health and wellbeing.

“The luncheon offers a chance for women to connect, relax, reflect, rejuvenate.”

This event is made possible thanks to key sponsors Westpac and the Gardiner Foundation, Belinda said.
