New funding: Yarrawonga Mulwala Men’s Shed will receive more funding which will help members such as president Ian (right), Joe and Neil who enjoy the camaraderie being part of the Men’s Shed brings.

Barooga and Yarrawonga will be a couple of thousand dollars better off with money from the 2022-23 Volunteer Grants soon to be in their hands.

The Barooga Cricket Club will receive $2000, Barooga Football Netball Club $2100 and Yarrawonga-Mulwala Men’s Shed $2500 respectively as part of the Federal Government’s annual Volunteer Grants program.

Marking National Volunteer Week, Federal Member for Farrer Sussan Ley said the funding would assist local clubs which in turn would assist local communities.

“With grant amounts set between $1000 and $5000, this money will be going towards things like work tools, a defibrillator and first-aid course, a new mower, laptops or iPad, even some new bench seats,” Ms Ley said.

“I look forward to a further round of grants being made available again later this year.”
