Local duo in winning team

Jackson Tooke and Lachlan Whelan in Broken Hill for the NSW Combined High School AFL championship.

Finley High School students Jackson Tooke and Lachlan Whelan headed to Broken Hill representing the Riverina in the NSW Combined High School AFL under 15 championship, last week.

Five games were played over three days and the Riverina side was undefeated heading into the grand final, which they won by 24 points to become state champions.

A great effort and experience for these two local players.

Congratulations to Casey and Shane Rodwell on the arrival of their first child, Rosie Mae.

Both Casey and Rosie are doing very well and certainly enjoyed the Mother's Day celebrations.

The next Golf Trade Day will be Sunday, June 16, a 2-person ambrose event with tee off at noon.

All levels of golfers are encouraged to play, handicap and non handicap players.

Get your partner organised now for a great day out on the golf course.

The Berrigan Football Club will play Mathoura at Berrigan this Saturday.

After a great win for the seniors on Saturday the Saints will be looking for another win, so come and support our local club.

A meal and entertainment will follow the game on Saturday night. All welcome.

The following Saturday, May 25, will be Ladies Day.

Another date to put in your diary is the good and services auction which will be held on June 1. All welcome.

Berrigan Tidy Towns and Conservation Group is holding a working bee on Sunday, June 2 at the Berrigan War Memorial Hospital from 9am to 11am.

They would love to see as many helpers as possible to assist with weeding and general tidy up of garden area at the front and rear of hospital with morning tea provided at conclusion.

Meeting point is at the front car park, please bring suitable gardening clothes, gloves, some tools, a family member or neighbour plus a smile. Many hands make light work.
