Local runners off to regionals

Good luck to the nine students from Tocumwal Public School heading to Gundagai tomorrow for the Riverina Cross Country Championships.

Elyna Ring, Kobi Jones, Ivy Farrell, Marlee Burke, Lily Baldwin, Nina Crawford, Joel Harrison, Brett Bird and Ross Grieves will all be running in 2km and 3km races.

The top six from each category will qualify for the state championships in Sydney.

Best of luck to you all and congratulations for making it through to Riverina level.

The team from Service NSW will be at the Tocumwal Library on Friday, June 28 from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

They can help you access savings, rebates and NSW Government services including Active and Creative Kids vouchers, energy rebates, transport and driving concessions and toll relief rebate.

They will also be able to assist with applications for NSW Seniors Cards, NSW Senior Savers Cards, fee-free apprenticeships, Pensioner Travel Vouchers and more.

Bookings are now open for the Can Assist Tocumwal Trivia Night to be held on Friday, June 28.

This fundraising event will be held at the Tocumwal RSL.

Tickets are $20 each, with teams of eight people per table.

There will also be a major raffle held, with the top prize valued at $500, and prizes for winners of the trivia event.

You can also play more fun games for a gold coin donation, so make sure you bring some change.

Doors open at 6.30pm with games to commence at 7pm sharp.

The Tocumwal RSL is a licensed venue with drinks at bar prices. You are welcome to bring your own snacks to share with your team.

Tocumwal Football Netball Club is holding its annual ball with a theme of Mid-Season Mingle on this Saturday, June 15 from 7pm.

The event will be held at the Tocumwal Football Netball Clubrooms with nibbles, live music, and drinks at bar prices. It is semi formal attire and tickets are $55 prepaid, or $65 at the door per person.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of if you are involved in the Club. It will be a great night for everyone.

Don’t forget to get your orders in for the Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel ‘Sweeten Our Care!’ homemade donut fundraising campaign.

The talented team of cooks will be whipping up batches of mouth-watering cinnamon sugar-coated donuts.

By indulging in a donut, you’re not just satisfying your taste buds, you’re contributing to the wellbeing of the wonderful residents at the hostel.

Donuts are $1.50 each, $7 for a half dozen or $11 for a baker’s dozen.

The cut-off date for orders is Monday, July 1. Collection of donuts will then be at the hostel on July 8.
