Students create vibrant artworks for NAIDOC week

Moama Public School students enjoy the NAIDOC Week workshops.

South West Arts recently facilitated workshops throughout the Murray River Council area for NAIDOC Week.

The workshops included Bunnaloo Public School and Moama Public School and focused on the theme “loud and proud”, with the students contributing to two large artworks representing flames.

The students also enjoyed painting their own tote bags and bookmarks and learning about Indigenous art forms such as weaving and the production of wood instruments such as the didgeridoo.

The two artworks will be presented to Murray River Council and the participating school in the coming weeks.
