A great day was held at the Berrigan races last Saturday, with lots of visitors and families coming back to town for some great reunions.

Thank you to the committee for another fabulous day of racing.

A great day was held last Sunday for the ‘Welcome to Berrigan Luncheon’ at the Golf and Bowling Community Club.

People have moved from Queensland, Northern Territory, far West NSW and they now call Berrigan their home.

Our new residents expressed that they have found our town very friendly and have felt a sense of belonging.

A big thank you to the Berrigan and District Development Association, president John Lane and Wendy Lane and the representatives from the community organisations, the team at the community club and to Dave Batten for cooking the barbecue.

Robyn O'Leary, Nan Dart, Bruce Rendell, Inara Fox, Ian Fox, Kurt Bauer and student Maggie Bramley with FHS 'Unstoppable' - an 11 month-old, 506kg bull.

At last week’s Finley High School Ag Open Day, Berrigan Lions members attended and president Nan Dart presented a $5000 cheque to Robyn O'Leary to help with funding for the new shed that has been erected at the ag plot.

It is a purpose built shed for students to work and for some extra storage during school holidays.

Robyn, fellow teacher Gary Webb and the students were very busy preparing cattle for the Melbourne Show.

Robyn addressed those present about the work that is done by the ag students. It was well attended and interesting to watch the activities.

Coffee, tea, a hot beef roll and lots of slices made by the students were made available for those who attended.

Berrigan CWA members previously forwarded a cheque for the new shed.
