While Flemington hosted Crown Oaks Day, Vivid was hosting its own event at the Moama Bowling Club on Thursday, November 7.

Over 100 attendees gathered at the bowling club dressed in their best frocks and frills.

Guests enjoyed bubbles on arrival, a sit down lunch, gift bags and prizes.

There was also a punters’ club, with tips by former jockey Simon Marshall alongside the TAB, fundraising auctions and raffles on offer.

About 15 women also participated in a fashion contest, with prizes handed out for lady of the day, shoe of the day and headpiece of the day.

The event was hosted to raise money to purchase new high-tech equipment for Vivid clients.

Vivid executive manager resources Shannon Walker said the equipment would help give clients top-of-the-range experiences as well as help with fitness.

“There are some people that can’t easily travel or experience things outside of Echuca, whether that be financially or mobility-wise, but they can experience it through virtual reality,” she said.

“There’s also a fitness element with some of the tech. You can track people’s fitness and improve responsiveness.

“It’s great because we want to deliver cutting-edge technology; you don’t have to be in the city to have the best.”

Although the final figures are yet to be finalised, it is estimated that the event raised around $14,000.
