The Devenish, Dookie and District’s Good Friday Appeal has added another fundraising event to its yearly calender — and this is one you don’t want to miss.

The brand new Lucky Draw event gives you a chance to socialise, win big prizes, enjoy live entertainment by local bands, and indulge in some delicious food and drink while supporting the Good Friday Appeal and the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Every dollar raised through ticket sales, raffles and auctions will contribute to the DDDGFA's 2025 fundraising total, supporting vital healthcare for children.

“Last year, we raised $193,240. In the last about eight years, we’ve raised just over $700,000,” DDDGFA president Paul Durden said.

“This is a new event, and we’re hoping that at the end of the day... we can generate about $10,000 towards the appeal.”

Mr Durden said it’s best to get in quick, as tickets are expected to sell fast, and there are strictly only 150 tickets available.

For just $120, two people can enjoy a full afternoon of entertainment, including complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks and finger food, at the charming Gladstone Hotel venue.

Additionally, there will be raffles and auctions held through the night with stubby holders, sports memorabilia and more up for grabs.

The essence of the ‘lucky draw’ is that every ticket holder has a chance to win, with 13 ticket holders to win back the cost of their ticket by the end of the night, as well as some even bigger prizes up for grabs.

“During the day, we draw out every number that is sold. Out of that, the first ticket drawn will win $120 back, and then every number 12, 24, 36, etc up to 144, is the same,” Mr Durden said.

The last ticket to be drawn will win a grand prize of $3000.

“You don’t have to be there to win, so if you buy a ticket to make a donation and can’t go, if you’re drawn out, you’ll still win.”

Getting there will be made easier than ever, thanks to Ford buses offering a free pick-up and drop-off service in Tatura, Mooroopna and Shepparton.

Those interested should keep an eye out for the group’s annual lamb and sheep drive, and first ever cattle drive sale, both also taking place in October.
