Crash: A man was flown to hospital after a crash in Mooroopna on Monday, August 21.

A man has been flown to hospital in Bendigo after his van crashed in Mooroopna on Monday, August 21.

Shepparton police Acting Sergeant Tim Mosely said the 57-year-old Tatura man was driving north on Echuca Rd when his Toyota van left the road and crashed into a tree about 7.25am.

The crash was a low speed one and police believe it is likely it occurred because of a medical episode being suffered by the man.

Crash: An ambulance helicopter landed on an oval in Mooroopna on Monday, August 21, after a crash in Echuca Rd.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man was treated by ambulance officers at the scene before being flown by air ambulance to Bendigo Health in a critical condition suffering from a medical episode.

The ambulance helicopter landed on the former Mooroopna High School oval to transfer the man to hospital.
