Man’s body found in car after Bunbartha fire

Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a burnt car in Bunbartha on Saturday, December 24.

Emergency services were called to a car fire on Loch Garry Rd about 10am.

After the fire was extinguished, the body of a man was located inside the vehicle.

The man has since been identified as a 19-year-old Wangaratta man.

The exact circumstances surrounding the fire and the man’s death are still to be determined and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident.

Police are also asking anyone who was travelling through the area around the time of the fire and may have dash-cam footage to come forward.
