If you enjoy nothing better than sitting back with a good book then you may also like chatting with others who share the same interests.

Mathoura Book Club has been established at the library.

And you don’t only get books, but also coffee and a chat with other book lovers.

The club meets on the first Thursday of the month at 1.30pm.

If tennis is your ‘cup of tea’, then you’ll be pleased to hear that a new season is looming for Mathoura Tennis Club.

First up, the club is required to conduct its annual general meeting but after that the fun can begin.

Wednesday, September 4, 7.30pm, has been set aside for the annual meeting, which will be held in the club’s rooms.

People with ideas which may help the club better able to serve the community would be particularly welcome.

For any other information you can contact Donna McCluskey.

Congratulations to Mathoura Netball Club which had three of its teams contest finals over the weekend.

The under-13 and C-grade teams enjoyed success, and will be back in action in the next round.

Unfortunately luck was not with the B-grade team on the day, but they should take pride in the fact that they were there while a lot of others were not.

It will be holding its Kindergarten information evening at 7.30pm.

You will be able to meet the Kindergarten teacher and other staff, see the classroom where your child will spend a great deal of time and learn about what the school can offer.
