Enjoying the music: The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is holding a schools concert at Riverlinks Eastbank.

Riverlinks is hosting the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Schools Concert, a captivating and educational musical event tailored for students in Greater Shepparton.

It will be led by musicians performing the night before at the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra – Symphony and Serenity concert on Wednesday, October 4.

On Thursday, October 5, students will embark on an interactive journey guided by Cybec assistant conductor Carlo Antonioli and presenter Karen Kyriakou.

They will delve into the world of Mendelssohn’s remarkable compositions, engaging in active participation and attentive listening while immersing themselves in the enchanting melodies of the orchestra.

Riverlinks acting manager Hannah Shelton said it aimed to ignite passion for classical music in young minds.

“We aspire to leave a lasting impression on students, nurturing their love for music and fostering their artistic exploration,” she said.

The event is for students and children aged five to 12.
