Sunday update:
A man has been charged after a fatal crash in Carag Carag on May 26.
The 24-year-old truck driver from Jan Jac has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.
He has been bailed to face Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on May 31.
Friday update:
A woman has died in a two-vehicle collision in Carag Carag on Friday, May 26.
A truck and a Holden Astra hatchback collided on the Midland Hwy, at about 12.05pm, police said.
The passenger of the hatchback, a 73-year-old Shepparton woman, later died in hospital.
The driver of the hatchback, a 32-year-old Shepparton woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The woman is the 23rd person to die on the region’s roads since New Year’s Eve.

Emergency services are on the scene of a crash at Carag Carag, near Stanhope.
Police said two vehicles collided on the Midland Hwy about noon on Friday, May 26.
The Midland Hwy is closed in both directions.
Police Major Collision investigation unit is believed to be enroute to the scene.
